Popular Chapel Allerton greengrocer to relocate to make way for new Italian deli

A family-owned fruit and veg shop in Chapel Allerton is to move to new premises after their lease was terminated to make way for a new development.

The Fruit Stall has occupied the Harrogate Road shop unit since 2014, but will move to a new site this month.

The building will become an Italian 'salumeria' delicatessen which can seat 100 people if plans submitted to Leeds City Council are approved.

Former journalist Richard White first began selling fresh produce from a stall in Chapel Allerton in 2012, and opened his shop two years later.

He has now secured a tenancy for the former Simply Cakes shop on Harrogate Road and the premises are currently undergoing a refit before the business re-opens at the end of November.
