If planning permission goes ahead, these could be the city's tallest buildings by 2030, with two skyscrapers set to knock Bridgewater Place off the top spot.

A giant crane was erected in May to build this 37-floor student skyscraper on Lovell Park Road, next to the Merrion Centre. The building will include 752 bedrooms and will be the tallest in Yorkshire when completed.
Built in 2007, this office and residential skyscraper is visible from 25 miles away from most areas. It is currently Yorkshire's tallest building.
