7. Former South Leeds Golf Club
A 3G pitch and tennis courts will be laid opposite Cockburn High School in Beeston, on a portion of land which was once part of South Leeds Golf Course.
The site itself became part of the greenbelt Middleton Park estate in 2019 when the golf club running the site closed. Photo: LDR
8. Thorpe Park Approach
Four floodlit artificial grass pitches will be built on public fields off Thorpe Park Approach, alongside a pavilion cafe and huge car parking space.
The city council, which is bringing the Green Park scheme forward with the help of Premier League and Football Association funding, says the development will give disadvantaged kids more chances to play sport.
But objectors from the neighbouring area say it will destroy wildlife in the area, damage the environment and cause heavy traffic and noise pollution. Photo: LDR

Revised plans to redevelop an old industrial complex alongside part of the Leeds-Liverpool canal have been put forward. Canal Mills in Armley, where textiles were produced for much of the 19th and 20th centuries, could be demolished with townhouses built on the space instead.
Last year, Leeds City Council gave planning permission for 148 new homes to be built on the site, most of which would have been apartments.
Plans had been approved in principle, with details expected to be agreed in the coming weeks. Photo: LDR
