Police talk man down from Leeds railway bridge

Police successfully talked a vulnerable man down from a railway bridge in east Leeds after he had been there for three hours.

A member of the public called 999 to raise concerns about the man, who was at the top of the bridge on Selby Road, Halton at 11.30pm on Saturday night.

Trained officers negotiated with the man, who came down safely at 2.25am. He was taken to hospital for a mental health assessment.
