The man walked off with the girl in the direction of Hunslet Road.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "This could be a completely innocent situation with the child and male being related and no criminal offences being committed.

"The child is described as white female, 3-4 years old, blonde hair, wearing pink jacket, grey tights.

"The adult male is described as white, late 20's/early 30's, dark spikey hair, blue/black 3/4 length coat, light green or blue shoulder bag."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log 938.
