Police investigating video of young girl shouting abuse in Halton Moor, Leeds

West Yorkshire Police said it is looking into a video of a young child shouting racist abuse at a woman in Leeds which has appeared on social media.

The force has said it is trying to establish if the video had been reported to them and if any offences have been committed.

The video which has been circulated widely on social media shows a young child shouting racist abuse through a locked gate at a property in the Halton Moor area of Leeds.

The little girl, who is wearing pink trainers and has her hair in pig tails shouts abuse and calls the woman filming the video a "F****** s**g" and racially abuses her.

She goes onto to shake the gates shouting "I can get in" before other children on scooters arrive and throw rubbish through the gate, hurling more abuse.

The victim has claimed on social media there is nothing the police can do as the perpetrators are such young children.

West Yorkshire Police said in a statement: "We are aware of a video circulating on social media and other media outlets said to have been filmed in the Halton Moor area of Leeds.

"We are currently looking at the full circumstances of it – including when and where it was filmed, if the incident was reported to us and if any offences were committed."
