Plan ahead for roadworks on motorways across Yorkshire

Motorists travelling on the motorway in Yorkshire could face delays next week as Highways England carries out roadworks.

Highways England said it aims to cause as little disruption as possible during the planned work.

The following roadworks will be in place across the region next week but could change due to weather conditions.

M62 Junction 26 Bradford (M606 interchange)

There will be narrow lanes and a 30mph speed limit in place until a project to add an extra lane to the roundabout at the junction is completed in autumn 2016. The slip roads and roundabout will be reduced to a single lane overnight, between 7pm and 6am, from Monday 14 December for five nights.

M62 Junction 29 Lofthouse Interchange

The westbound side of the motorway will be closed between the slip roads at junction 29 for carriageway repairs overnight on Tuesday 15 December and then for a further two nights from Friday 18 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am on Tuesday 15 December then the closures on Friday 18 December and Saturday 19 December will be in place from 8pm to 12pm (lunchtime the following day) , and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 Junction 39 Denby Dale to Junction 42 (M62 interchange)

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions at junction 41 to junction 42 as part of the smart motorway scheme and a 50mph speed limit in place. The southbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 39 and 40 overnight for four nights from Monday 14 December for resurfacing works. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 Junction 38 to Junction 39 Denby Dale

The southbound side of the motorway will be closed between junction 38 and junction 39 for carriageway repairs overnight for two nights from Wednesday 16 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M62 Junction 22 Saddleworth to Junction 23 Huddersfield

The westbound side of the carriageway will be reduced to a single lane for carriageway repairs for four nights from Tuesday 15 December. The eastbound side of the carriageway will also be reduced to a single lane for carriageway repairs and bridge repairs overnight for two nights from Monday 14 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am

M1 Junction 32 Thurcroft to Junction 35a Stocksbridge

The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit until the project is completed in winter 2016. The northbound side of the motorway will also be reduced to a single lane overnight for three nights from Monday 14 December. The northbound exit slip road at junction 33 will be closed overnight on Tuesday 15 December. The southbound side of the motorway will also be reduced to a single lane overnight for two nights from Monday 14 December. The southbound exit slip road at junction 33 will be closed overnight on Monday 14 December. The southbound entry slip road at junction 33 and junction 34 will be closed overnight on Monday 14 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 Junction 36 to 37 Barnsley

The southbound entry slip road at junction 37 will be closed with a single lane on the southbound side of the motorway overnight for five nights for resurfacing work from Monday 14 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M18 Junction 3 Doncaster

The east bridge at junction 3 will also be closed overnight for bridge works from Monday 14 December until Christmas, preventing access to the southbound M18 from the A6182. A diversion will take drivers on the northbound carriageway up to junction 4 and then back on the southbound carriageway. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.

M62 Junction 36 to Junction 37 Howden

The eastbound side of the carriageway will be fully closed for bridge works for five nights from Monday 14 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M606 Junction 0 to Junction 3 Staygate

The southbound side of the carriageway will be fully closed overnight for five nights for resurfacing works from Monday 14 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A1M Junction 35 to Junction 36 Marr

The southbound side of the carriageway will be closed overnight for two nights on Thursday 17 December for barrier works. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A61 Tankersley

The A61 Tankerlsey north bridge will be reduced to a single lane for bridge works for five nights from Monday 14 December with convoy working at 10mph. Drivers will be led through the roadworks by a contractor’s vehicle in convoys. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am. The A61 will also be closed in both directions between Westwood roundabout and McDonald’s for roundabout improvement work from Monday 14 December for four nights. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A61 Westwood to Tankersley

The eastbound and westbound side of the A road will be closed between Westwood and Tankersley for resurfacing works for two nights from Friday 18 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A63 South Cave to Melton Interchange

The eastbound side of the A road will be closed overnight for carriageway repairs for two nights from Monday 14 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A63 Western Interchange

The eastbound entry slip road at western interchange will be closed overnight for carriageway repairs for two nights from Wednesday 16 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6an, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion route.

A63 Brighton Street

The westbound entry slip road at Brighton Interchange will be closed overnight for carriageway repairs on Friday 18 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6an, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion route.

A64 Towton to Bramham

A64 Brambling Fields to Pickering

The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight for five nights from Monday 14 December for carriageway repairs. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A64 Headley Bar to Bramham

The eastbound exit slip road at Headley Bar will be fully closed overnight for five nights for carriageway repairs from Tuesday 15 December. The eastbound side of the A road will be closed overnight for three nights for carriageway repairs from Wednesday 16 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A180/A160 Immingham, Humberside

There will be narrow lanes on the A180 and A160 along with a 50mph speed limit while work takes place to improve access to the Port of Immingham, including upgrading the A160 to a dual carriageway. There will be a full closure on the eastbound and westbound side of the A road from Brocklesby to Stallingbrough overnight for two nights from Thursday 17 December. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016. The westbound exit slip road and eastbound entry slip road at Brocklesby Interchange will be closed until August 2016.
