Photo essay: The most magical ballet show barre none


That’s how the Yorkshire Evening Post’s own reviewer described Northern Ballet’s sumptuous production of Swan Lake.
And as it plays its final night at Leeds Grand theatre tonight, (March 12) before moving on to Sheffield as part of a four-venue Spring tour, we pay tribute to the cast and production team with these stunning photographs taken by our award winning photographer Simon Hulme.

Performed to Tchaikovsky’s beautiful and moving score, and played live by Northern Ballet Sinfonia, this production is choreographed by David Nixon OBE, who has been artistic director of Northern Ballet since 2001.
