For more than 20 years it has nestled away on the quiet streets of Hyde Park, almost unnoticed to the trained eye.

However, the colourful shack on Norwood Mount is home to one of the most loved and respected of cycling workshops in the city, Recycle Engineering.

The shop/shack is very different to any other bike repairers.

Owner Theo Cupier salvages spare parts, rebuilds wheels and sells recycled bikes, bringing them back to life with new parts.

He has spares for every conceivable bike including vintage bicycles, and he sells new parts from his tiny back street premises.

Virtually all of his customers come via word-of-mouth recommendations with the veritable Aladdin’s Cave having a very loyal base of visitors.
