Yorkshire estate agent Linley & Simpson hits £100k fundraising milestone for Martin House Children’s Hospice

A Yorkshire estate agent has hit a significant milestone, passing the £100,000 mark in its fundraising for Martin House Children’s Hospice.

Linley & Simpson has supported the Boston Spa hospice for the last five years, carrying out a variety of activities to raise cash.

Last month, the company’s two founders, Will Linley and Nick Simpson, presented hospice staff with a cheque of £25,000, after it issued a funding crisis SOS, taking the figure within reaching distance of £100k.

Last week, the firm - which has 21 branches across Yorkshire - hit £100,817.

Will Linley said: “At Linley and Simpson, we know how important home is, and Martin House understand this too.

“That’s why we’re delighted to partner with them for a sixth year, committing to raise £24,000 over the next 12 months, just in time for our 24th birthday.”

Martin House supports families across West, North and East Yorkshire, providing support and palliative care for children and young people with life limiting conditions. It costs Martin House more than £9m each year to provide this vital care, which, since the middle of March, has been severely affected by the ongoing Covid crisis.

Becky Beevers, Martin House partnerships manager, said: “We just can’t thank Linley & Simpson enough for their support of us over the last five years. Raising more than £100,000 for us in that time is simply fantastic, and helps us continue to provide our services to children with life-limiting conditions and their families, across much of the Yorkshire region.”
