Following that, the hoards of people had completely trashed the park with their litter - which was later cleaned up by volunteers.

Here are 10 things you had to say about the situation:

Edward Orlinski - "Why can't people take their rubbish home?"

Luke Evans - "Where are all the bins?"

Thomas Andrew Lilburn - "Let a few officers work the park and enjoy the sun, then they can fine offenders £300 each for littering!"

Craig Mars - "The culprits should be fined."

Phil Taylor - "This happens everywhere, don't know why but it does."

Tracy Mikkelsen Edwards - "Hopefully this will highlight the issue with litter getting discarded across the whole city."

Ste McNally - "The council should just place four massive skips in the park on days like that."

Danny Halls - "Thank god we have people willing to volunteer and give their time to help. If only more were like them."

James Roberts - "People should be taking their rubbish home obviously, but more bins would help."

Darren Porter - "Couple of skips might be in order next time. Bins are rammed and people will never take trash home."
