On Tuesday, Weetabix tweeted a picture of Heinz Baked Beans on its cereal questioning followers as to why bread should "have all the fun, when there's Weetabix".

The breakfast cereal brand dubbed the food compilation as "beanz on bix for breakfast with a twist" before its tweet went viral, having received nearly 25,000 retweets and over 80,000 favourites so far.

It also received a number of hilarious responses from popular brands who expressed their disapproval of the cereal-and-baked-bean mixture.

Weetabix's tweet said: "Why should bread have all the fun, when there's Weetabix? Serving up @HeinzUK Beanz on bix for breakfast with a twist. #ItHasToBeHeinz #HaveYouHadYourWeetabix"

The West Yorkshire Police force was one of the disapprovers of the new breakfast suggestion, and tweeted Weetabix jokingly to say that it was 'criminal'.

The officers did however plead that whilst the food was 'criminal', people should not ring the force to report it.

The hilarious West Yorkshire Police tweet said: "Even though this is criminal, please don't ring us to report it."

Yorkshire Tea also joined in on the Twitter banter between brands about Weetabix's 'criminal' bean picture by responding saying: "Hello, police? There's been a murder?".

Warburtons then offered Yorkshire Tea a "witness statement" in another hilarious reply to the new breakfast idea.

The baking firm added: "If you need a witness statement, please let us know."

National Rail joked that it would be delaying all its services whilst it "figured out what is happening", before Specsavers asked the train company if it had "lost its train of thought?"

Sainsbury's gave a hilarious response making reference to a Parish Council meeting that went viral last week, and told Weetabix that "Beans have no authority here, no authority AT ALL" just as Jackie Weaver had been told in the Council meeting.

Dominoes played on the common joke that pineapple on pizza is the biggest no-go food, and implied that Weetabix had taken over with its controversy.

The pizza company tweeted: "Us: Pineapple on pizza is the most controversial food ever. Weetabix: Hold my spoon."

Weetabix joked with Dominoes and said it was "almost scared to ask what the verdict on pineapple on Weetabix may be".

But, whilst Weetabix had also tweeted the suggestion of having Marmite on its cereal just the day before, there was no where near as much controversy around this suggestion as there was with Heinz Baked Beans.
