Katie Wilson, 35, wanted to do something creative to share the brilliant news with her loved ones as she couldn’t tell them in person due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The imaginative mum says she thought up a plan to get her two-year-old son Max posed up on top of a pumpkin to fool her pals into thinking it was just a cute Halloween picture.

The adorable picture, which she posted on social media on the eve of Halloween, shows little Max in a dinosaur onesie sat on top of the pumpkin.

Katie says everyone's reactions made it worthwhile even if she wasn't able to tell them in person.

Katie, from Pontefract, West Yorks., said: “We came up with the idea because it was Halloween and we wanted to do something interesting and creative.

“Normally we’d be able to tell all of our friends and family in person - but due to Covid this wasn’t possible.

“But when they looked closer they would spot the pregnancy reveal.”

She began to brainstorm ideas on how to tell friends when she saw a Facebook post about carved pumpkins.

She contacted an artist based in Huddersfield, West Yorks., who carved the scan into a pumpkin for just £20.

She said: “I was so excited when I found out I was pregnant and I couldn’t wait to tell everyone I love.

“When we got it we were so happy - it looked absolutely amazing.”

Professional carver Christian Russell spent two hours masterfully sculpting the pumpkin for the expecting couple.

The 47-year-old said: “It was such a lovely idea - I was chuffed to be able to make something so unique.

“This is a bit of a passion project for me, something I do every year around this time, but it was wonderful to see their reaction to it.

“It was the most unique request I’ve ever received.”
