The charity quiz is being held at Rodley Cricket Club on Friday night with all proceeds going to the Rob Burrow Fund and the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Burrow, 37, retired from playing at the end of the 2017 season and was diagnosed with the condition before Christmas. Since he confirmed the news in January the player, who spent 16 years with Leeds Rhinos, has been overwhelmed by support from professionals and fans and hundreds of thousands of pounds have been raised in just a couple of months from a number of charity events.

Rhinos fan, Nicola Blackburn, who owns the Inspiring Choices fitness and exercise business, has organised the latest upcoming event and is still drumming up support from local businesses with more than 30 raffle prizes already up for grabs.

She said: "I started doing charity events about 18 months ago. I did it for a friend that was going through chemo and it went really well and people said you should start doing them all the time.

"I do them every few months depending what is going on but there is usually somebody going through something. I have been a Rhinos fan since forever and was shocked when I heard the news and thought the next one had to be about Rob Burrow.

"Years ago me and my friend would watch them train and it really hit home when it happens to somebody you have grown up knowing and is a similar age."
