Reece Barr, 25, had been drinking with friends in Leeds on Sunday night.

On his way home - after visiting his local takeaway - Reece discovered that his family were out and he had no way of getting into his house.

After a short effort at sleeping on newspaper outside, Reece decided to set a ladder up outside his home to reach his bedroom and keep his kebab warm.

In hilarious footage, Reece climbs the ladder with a hammer in one hand and his kebab in the other.

Undeterred by the height, Reece smashed his own bedroom window with a hammer - while balancing the kebab in his other hand - and climbed inside his bedroom.

He sustained minor injuries from the glass while climbing into the window, however told the Yorkshire Evening Post that it was worth it to save his kebab.

Reece said: "On Sunday night I decided to go for a few beers with the lads.

"That turned into about 20 pints, so on my way home I got a kebab and when I got home I couldn’t get in as my dad was out and I had no key.

"After trying to sleep on newspaper in my bar in garden for an hour, I thought it would be a good idea to scale this ladder at one in morning with a hammer in my hand.

"The best bit is my kebab was in the other.

"In my state I was pretty proud of how I did.

"The kebab was safe and nobody was seriously injured.

"A couple of cuts, and a new window, is all fine!

"The kebab was worth saving."
