Northern Power Grid reported the problem affecting 120 properties in LS11 this evening.
The problem is expected to be resolved by 11.30pm.
The power cut was first reported at 4.13pm.
On the Power Grid livemap, Northern said: "Our team are working hard to restore your power as quickly as possible
"The power cut affecting your property has been caused by an unexpected problem with the electricity cable that serves your area."
