Located in the main atrium on the ground floor between December 3 and December 20, ‘The Giving Tree by Trinity Leeds’ will allow customers to pick up an extra item or two during their Christmas shopping trip and place the unwrapped gift into the donation box under the tree.

The centre has also introduced ‘Give and Go’ - meaning those who are short on time but still want to make a real difference this Christmas can donate via contactless payment.

All donations and money raised through the contactless donation point will be used to purchase gifts and other much needed items on behalf of local charities, the centre said.

Trinity Leeds is working in conjunction with local charity Child Friendly Leeds to collect and distribute all of the donations to numerous charities throughout the city and its surrounding areas.

Councillor Fiona Venner, Executive Member for Children and Families said: “We're delighted to be working with Trinity Leeds this Christmas and are grateful to both the centre and its customers for their support this year when it feels more important than ever to make sure that every child has something to look forward to at Christmas.”

David Maddison, Centre Director at Trinity Leeds has said “It’s so important for us to give back to the local community, particularly at Christmas which can be a difficult time for many.
