Mark Davies died on October 30 after being taken to hospital for treatment. Police had previously issued numerous appeals for information regarding the whereabouts of the 53-year-old.

Zoe Bannister is married to Mark’s cousin and had known Mark for over 30 years. She told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “He was the most generous person, he'd give you his last pound, that was Mark. He was the life and soul of any party, you heard his voice before you'd see him.

"Mark, we are so sorry we couldn't find you and bring you home. I had visions of seeing you in Leeds with some new friends you had made, having a drink and a laugh with them, and me telling you off for causing all the worry, but that's never going to happen now. You wouldn't believe how many people were hoping and praying that you would be found safe and well. It's just a tragedy that never should have happened."

West Yorkshire Police confirmed he was found on October 28 after being missing, and that he was taken to hospital. WYP have also said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Zoe added: "He was the one that got me and my husband together 25 years ago. Mark was just so full of life, the life and soul of every party. He was loud, bubbly and funny - once met, never forgotten. We hope you're at peace now and will treasure all the great memories we have of you. We love and miss you forever.”
