We know that things seem scary during these unprecedented times but there is plenty of community spirit here in Leeds.

Here are just a few of the 'good news' stories The Yorkshire Evening Post shared last week.

The whole of Leeds took to their doorsteps, gardens and balconies to hold a mass round of applause for our key workers on Thursday.

At 8pm, thousands across the city clapped to say thank you to our NHS workers, delivery drivers, shop workers and a multitude of other key workers.

Andy painted four electrical boxes outside the LGI which read: "Thank you NHS. Total chuffin' legends, the lot of you."

Spencer Tovey rushed downstairs to his parents Corrine and Russ after hearing shouting from the home opposite their own on Acres Hall Crescent.

The residents danced to popular song 'dancing in the street' by David Bowie and Mick Jagger.

More than 200 bears have been placed in windows across the area and a map has created so children can track the bears down.

The creative idea was thought up by 10-year-old Macey, who wanted to "spread a little happiness" around the community.

Gemma, from Whitkirk, said: "I just wanted to do something lighthearted, as in the hairdressing world there was so much sadness around closing."

Nick Pearson and Lauren Rooney, both 26, decided to put the 3D printer at home to use to make the protective visors.

Sian Cosgrove, 24, wrote a sign that read "WHAT IS THE BLACK + WHITE CAT CALLED?"

The neighbour responded with a window sign of their own that read "WALTER" and a relationship was born.
