The Wardrobe Leeds to donate 10 per cent of food takings to Leeds food banks
The Wardrobe Leeds have pledged to donate 10 per cent of all food takings to Leeds food banks.
Staff from the Leeds city centre bar tweeted about the decision on Tuesday after "reflecting" on the recent vote in parliament regarding free school meals during the holiday period.
The tweet said: "Last week our team had some time to reflect over the vote passed in parliament regarding free school meals during the holiday period.
"We were overwhelmed by the response across the country and collectively decided that we had to do our bit to help those in need."
The bar will now support a different food bank each week in Leeds.
The tweet continued: "We have decided to give 10% of our weekly food takings to food banks across the city.
"Each week we shall choose a different food bank to ensure that the help is spread across Leeds.
"We hope that this helps those that need it and we will be looking for what more we can do."
