Imran Mughal warned residents to avoid the area after spotting the huge flooded section of the road.

He told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "It is just a flooded mess.

"It is a burst pipe at the junction where Continental foods is.

"It has flowed down to Harehills Lane where some cellars are submerged."

A report of low water pressure and loss of water was posted by Yorkshire Water on their live map shortly before 8pm.

The report stated: "We're really sorry but customers may have low pressure or no water in the area.

"We're investigating the problem urgently.

"Once restored, water may be cloudy or discoloured, this will return to normal shortly after and you can help clear this by running your tap for a few minutes."

Yorkshire Water said they "are aware of the issue and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused".
