Rare bird discovered in Leeds after being blown over from the continent

Brian Hughes said he had never before seen the pink-beaked bird, and later discovered it was a rosy starling - which is native to Asia and some parts of Eastern Europe.

Brian photographed the unusual bird - which has a black head, tail, and legs, and a peach-coloured back and chest - perched on a tree near Wetherby.
