The Yorkshire Evening Post-backed Cash For Kids Pulse1 radio Mission Christmas appeal aims to make sure all disadvantaged children in Leeds and West Yorkshire have a present to open this Christmas.

People are being asked to buy one extra gift before Friday December 18 and hand it in to a number of drop off points, including the charity's partner B&M's stores.

Pulse1 charity manager Lisa Sullivan said items like board games and jigsaws are ideal for that age category.

Lisa said: “We are so very grateful to everyone who has supported us so far but if we can just ask one last time, for anyone that can afford to support us this year to help us in whatever way they can.

"It’s been a devastating year for many of the families that we support and the stories that I have heard are heartbreaking.
