Acting Home Manager at Paisley Lodge, Lucy Gradwell, said, “The residents would like to say a special thank you to Christ Church for giving them the hope they needed in trying times.

“The church service today (Wednesday) was a lovely experience for all residents and staff; it was truly touching and moving at the same time.

“The residents enjoyed the sermon given by the Rev. Phil Arnold followed by a Christmas Carol ‘Away in a Manger’.

“Some got emotional when we all said the Lord's Prayer, it was very special.”

Activities coordinator Elizabeth Garbutt arranged the services and coordinated the collection and donation of items.

She said, “It feels nice giving something back to the local community and working together."

One resident, Maude, kindly donated the hamper basket and helped box things up.

Paisley care home is one of six Orchard Care Homes in Yorkshire which offer residential dementia care and short-term respite care.
