"Superwoman!": Mum from Yorkshire 'overwhelmed' after breastfeeding picture during Leeds rugby match goes viral

A picture of Emily Brierley, 29, breastfeeding her daughter Arabella - who is just 14 weeks old - went viral across the rugby league community and beyond over the weekend.
Thousands of West Yorkshire residents heaped praise on Emily's act during a substitution in a match for her team Stanningley Ladies ARLC.

Hide AdSpeaking to the YEP, Emily - also mum to nine-year-old Scarlett - said she was "absolutely blown away" by the response to the picture.
She said she hoped it would help to normalise the stigma of public breastfeeding but also "feeding while playing a sport" she "loves".
Emily, from Bradford, told the YEP: "My mum took the photo on her phone.
"I am absolutely blown away by [the response], I did not expect it to have such a big impact.

Hide Ad"I initially just shared it on my own Instagram and Facebook.
"One of the girls I play with, Lyndsey Cunnett asked if I would mind her using it on our team page to which from there it’s been shared virally.
"I really hope it helps to normalise public breast feeding but also feeding while playing a sport I love."
Emily said she had the full support of her teammates and coach Dean.

Hide AdShe added: "He is amazing and totally understands that at points I may be needed for Arabella.
"The girls are a massive support, especially being a single mum and having an older girl Scarlett.
"They all help out where they can at games days and training.
"We are one big family."
Hundreds of comments have been left underneath the viral photograph on social media.
One said: "Women are just amazing, wow!"
Another added: "Kudos to you, women are unreal!
