Lucky Leeds bingo player scoops £50,000

The winner, who has asked to remain anonymous, was enjoying a spontaneous evening out at Mecca Bingo Leeds Mayfair when all her numbers came up and the night took an exciting and unexpected turn, as she called ‘house’ on the National Bingo Game.

The local medical worker, who has been playing at Mecca Bingo Leeds Mayfair for 20 years with her family, successfully claimed the club prize and a whopping £50,000 after a last-minute decision to come on her own.

She said: “I was so overwhelmed when I realised I had won the jackpot, the atmosphere in club was like everyone had won! I’ve been playing at the club forever but this is the first time I have ever won a large cash prize, I can hardly believe it!”

The jackpot-winning mum plans to pay off her upcoming holiday to celebrate her silver wedding anniversary and treat herself to some home improvements, as well as giving some of her winnings to her three children.
