Leeds youngsters who spent all day clearing Belle Isle roads praised

A generous pair of Leeds teenagers have been praised by the community - after spending more than 12 hours helping residents stuck in traffic.

The pair were spotted on Winrose Drive, Belle Isle, by Jess - who told the Yorkshire Evening Post they had been out on the street from first thing this morning.

The male teen was described as being 'wet through' after spending the entire day outside.

However, the weather did not stop the pair and they helped many Leeds motorists who got stuck.

Jess praised the pair on social media.

She posted: "This lad is about 15 and he's been out since 9 this morning helping everyone that's stuck with a spade, with a girl with blue wellies on.

"I see teenagers getting a lot of judgement these days but this lad is one of many I've seen today helping people.

"A big well done if anyone knows him not the best picture on winrose drive he's still there now he's soaking wet threw getting a ambulance up what a lovley lad

Speaking to the YEP, Jess said the pair helped cars using his own spade.

She added: "He has been helpful all day.

"The last I saw, he was helping an ambulance and bus.

"Just a lovely kind lad."
