Leeds remembrance service to honour victims of road deaths and injuries
Photos of lost family and friends will be on display 🤍
Families who have lost loved ones or been injured in crashes are being invited to come together for an annual remembrance service in Leeds.
The Oakleaf Remembrance Service will take place at Leeds Minster, on Kirkgate, at 3pm on Sunday November 15.
The service was founded 33 years ago by road safety charity Support and Care After Road Death and Injury (SCARD), working alongside sister charity Campaign Against Drinking and Driving (CADD.

It aims to remember those killed and injured on the roads, while offering an opportunity for families to share their experiences and pay tribute to loved ones.
Those attending are encouraged to bring photographs of family members and friends who have died, which will be displayed around the church font.
Bereaved families will also be invited to write their loved one's name on an oak leaf, with the names read aloud during the service.
A remembrance quilt featuring the names of many people who have died on the roads will also be displayed at the rear of the church.
Each piece of the quilt was stitched by members of bereaved families before being brought together by SCARD's founder and her friends.
The service will include personal experiences, observations and readings from the families of victims.
Yorkshire's civic dignitaries, police, fire and ambulance services, as well as other organisations supporting victims of road deaths and injuries, are also expected to attend.
SCARD said the gathering was an opportunity not only to remember those affected by road tragedies but also to give thanks for the work carried out by agencies supporting victims and their families.
The service is open to everyone, although organisers have particularly encouraged people who have been injured in road collisions or lost loved ones on the roads to attend.
Anyone wishing to have an oak leaf prepared ahead of the service can contact SCARD on 01924 562252 or email [email protected].
Oak leaves will also be available at Leeds Minster for people to complete on arrival.
