Leeds Playhouse to host Queer Arts North showcase
Queer Arts North are coming to Leeds Playhouse on Wednesday, March 11, for an afternoon of performance and provocation exploring the lives and culture of LGBTQIA+ people.
Hosted by keynote speaker Rikki Beadle-Blair MBE, the event will feature performances from Ro Hardaker, gobscure, Rhiannon Scutt, Idle Women, Mandla Rae, Roma Havers, Jamaal Monarch and Bordello Theatre.

Hide AdThere will also be a panel discussion, development sessions (funding advice & artist pitches) and a number of training opportunities for artists and art venues including funding advice sessions, pitches, and LGBTQ+ awareness training for venues who want to be more LGBTQIA+ aware.
Queer Arts North is a network of arts organisations strategically supporting LGBTQ+ arts, artists, organisations, venues and festivals across the North of England, co-ordinated by Curious Arts and supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
Phil Douglas, creative producer of Curious Arts, said: “The event is a fantastic opportunity for individuals and venues to connect and everyone learn more about LGBTQIA+ arts and culture, with development activity for artists to get advice, share ideas and to be inspired! ”
