Leeds Festival 2021 still going ahead following government lockdown end plans

Leeds Festival is set to go ahead following the latest roadmap announcement, organisers confirmed on social media.

The festival said "we can't wait to get back to the fields this summer" in the viral update posted across Facebook and Twitter on Wednesday.

The announcement said: "Reading and Leeds 2021 Following the government's recent announcement, we can't wait to get back to the fields this summer LET'S GO #RandL21"

Acts at the festival - set to be hosted on the weekend of August 27 - include headliners Stormzy and Liam Gallagher.

Other acts due to appear include Catfish and the Bottlemen and Post Malone.

The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby.

Fans took to social media to rejoice at the announcement.

One said: "Can't wait, just what we needed!"

Another said: "Finally light at the end of this tunnel. Looking forward to being in that field."
