This is how much it will cost to learn to skate at Planet Ice Leeds which is due to open this month

Highly anticipated skating facility Planet Ice Leeds has announced the price list for skating lessons ahead of its opening at the end of the month.

The public ice rink at Elland Road is due to open its doors at 4pm on January 31, 2020 after a turbulent development that began back in 2012.

Now the rink has announced the price list for their 'Skate Excellence' programmes which will take pupils from the basics of skating all the way to performing backward crossovers.

The Planet Ice Leeds website says: “The Skate Excellence learn to skate programme teaches the fundamentals of ice skating.

“It is aimed at beginners of all ages, abilities and different learning styles.

“The learning programme is taught over 8 grades and the skating skills in each grade are broken down into small segments called competencies and together they form the framework of this fun progressive learn to skate programme.

“Each skating course also includes a free skating session on the day of your lesson.”

Four-week courses, available from 29 February, from £51 per person.

Five week courses, available from 22 February, from £61 per person

Six-week courses, available from 15 February, from £51 per person

18-week courses, available from 16 February, from £161 per person.

Ice Penguin (toddler learn to skate) six-weeks, starts 15 February, from £51 per child

Planet Ice Leeds will also be offering three and five day learn to skate courses which fit six weeks of skating lessons into 30 minutes of coaching over consecutive days.

The first of these available is a five day course which will run from February 17 and is priced from £51 per person.

For those more confident on the ice there are skate and hockey excellence programmes on offer as well as options for smaller group learning.
