Officers will be carrying out essential firearms and tactical vehicle training near to the Carr Gate garden centre in Wakefield and Springmill Golf Course in Ossett.

They said: "The public may see officers carrying firearms. These will be blank.

"They will also see tactical vehicle operations and may hear gunfire and mock explosions from our Carr Gate training centre.

"Please do not be alarmed. This is an essential policing training exercise only."
