Harehills flooded by burst water main as Leeds residents complain of loss of water

A burst water main has left parts of Harehills 'flooded' - as Leeds residents took to social media to complain about losing water.

Video footage and pictures provided to the Yorkshire Evening Post by eye-witness Abid Kotia show parts of Harehills Lane - near the junction with Roundhay Road - flooded, with cars struggling to drive through certain areas.

One social media user said: "It stinks! Cars are struggling to get through."

A report of low water pressure and loss of water was posted by Yorkshire Water on their live map shortly before 8pm.

The report stated: "We're really sorry but customers may have low pressure or no water in the area.

"We're investigating the problem urgently.

"Once restored, water may be cloudy or discoloured, this will return to normal shortly after and you can help clear this by running your tap for a few minutes."

Yorkshire Water said they "are aware of the issue and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused".
