“It really does make a positive difference to all relationships, which can only be a good thing for the future.”

Mark’s achievement has earned him a rest too, as part of his prize is an additional two days’ annual holiday in the coming year.

Alistair Timmis, operations manager at the Hunslet depot, said: “We had a really strong list of potential winners.

"Mark has an enviable customer record and is a consistently passionate employee, these being significant factors in our choice of winner and his recognition is well deserved.”

The First West Yorkshire Hunslet depot employs 550 staff and operates around 200 buses in the city.
