Elderly casualty led to safety after house fire involving microwave in Leeds

An elderly person had to be led to safety by firefighters following a fire at a house in Leeds.

Crews from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a property on Tong Approach in Farnley shortly before 4.30am this morning (Nov 15).

The person was taken to hospital by an ambulance after suffering from smoke inhalation.

A statement from WYFRS said a microwave was involved in the fire.

The fire was put out by using one hose real, and firefighters also had to use two breathing apparatus. Crews from Stanningley and Leeds attended the incident.
