Date is set for the return of Bramham Park Fun Run
Runners of all ages and abilities can sign up to take part in a charity-boosting run in the picturesque surroundings of Bramham Park in north Leeds.
The popular 22nd Bramham Park Fun Run, in aid of Cancer Research UK, will take place on Sunday September 26 and after last year's event was postponed due the pandemic, organisers hope this year's will be "bigger and better than ever".
Entries are now open to sign up to the fun run, which has two routes - 5k and 10k circuits - designed for fun runners, walkers, adults and unaccompanied children from the age of 12.
Each runner will receive a medal and a fundraising pack.
Kathryn Leverett, fundraising manager for Cancer Research UK in Yorkshire, said: “Covid-19 has slowed research down and the impact over the last year has been enormous but with your help we can still beat cancer.
"One in two people now survive their cancer for 10 years or more in the UK, but there is still so much more to be done.
"Our ambition at Cancer Research UK is to accelerate progress in cancer research and see three in four people survive the next 20 years but we need huge support to make this happen.
“The support we receive from the local community is hugely important to us and the commitment from all the volunteers that support this great event over the last 22 years is so inspiring and appreciated.
"All vital funds raised from the Bramham Park Fun Run go towards Cancer Research UK’s work here in Yorkshire and we are delighted to hold the event again this year.”
