Cyclist taken to hospital in ambulance after falling off bike on Leeds road

A cyclist had to be taken to hospital in an ambulance after falling off their bike on a road in Leeds.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service were called to reports that a cyclist had fallen off their bike at around 1.50pm on Saturday.

One ambulance was sent to Stainbeck Avenue in Meanwood and it took the cyclist to Leeds General Infirmary.

The road was closed for a short amount of time and police attended to ease the traffic.

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 1.49pm on Saturday (30 January) to reports of a cyclist who had fallen from their bike in Stainbeck Avenue, Meanwood.

"An ambulance was dispatched to the scene and one patient was conveyed to Leeds General Infirmary."

The Service confirmed that it was the cyclist who was taken to hospital.
