"Come back and clean up!": Landlord pleads after "more than 100 people" attend huge Hyde Park party
A Hyde Park landlord has begged "more than 100 people" who attended a huge overnight party in Hyde Park last night to return and clean up their mess at 4pm - after shocking photographs showed gas canisters and alcohol bottles smashed in the street.
Sukhvir Thethi, 51, posted the photographs of the damage on local Leeds forum Leedsplace - much to the horror of residents of the area.
The party was allegedly held from 5pm on Saturday night through until 6am on Sunday morning.
Speaking to the YEP, Sukhvir said he had no issue with the party culture in Hyde Park.
However, he said he was also aware of the Covid rate surge in the area and many residents - including his ill mother - were "kept awake all night" due to the party.
Shocking pictures show the aftermath of the damage left strewn across the streets - Thornville Crescent and Meadow View.
Sukhvir said: "My 70 year old mother, nephew and nieces live here and my two year old granddaughter visits daily.
"My ill mother hasn’t slept neither have other family members.
"We understand it is the end of term and there are parties, we accept this.
"But we understand there is a Covid surge aswell."
Sukhvir has now pleaded with the partygoers to return to the streets at 4pm today to help with a clean up operation alongside residents.
He said he will also attend and help out cleaning.
Sukhvir added: "It would be really nice for all the 100 plus to come back and give the street and gardens clean.
"May I thank you all in advance."
Hyde Park currently has one of the highest Covid rates in the country.
