Only lucky people who had the privilege of growing up in the city can truly appreciate our culture, heritage and way of life - and the things that give us a special feeling of home, no matter where we are. We asked you: "What could you only know if you grew up in Leeds?" and this is what you said:
7. The Majestyk
Originally built as a cinema, The Majestyk was a cheesy, free and easy nightspot for Leeds nightlife dwellers for many years, and when it closed it left a gaping hole in the lives of many.
8. Hanging around The Light
Before the Trinity Leeds centre, hanging around The Light as a teenager was the thing to do. Also a hotspot for catching a glimpse of the Emmerdale cast or a Leeds United player. Those were the days!

For Wayne Axall, a fond memory is: "The smell of hops and barley from Tetley's brewery when making some more of the best beer in the world". Tetley's Leeds Brewery was closed in 2011, and demolished in 2012.

Leeds City Councils executive board member for communities Councillor Debra Coupar said: So many generations of children have grown up with Olly the Octopuss design on the wall at Tropical World, and we are delighted to welcome him back to his spiritual home after a short holiday." People such as Liz Ann Hurrocombe fondly remember the Emmett machine in the Merrion Centre. Eight of famous Emett Machines - several of which appeared in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - are currently on display.
12. You can drink in a boat
The sight of a boat moored on a grassy verge isnt an odd sight to stumble across to people in Leeds, with Dry Dock being a popular haunt for both its drinks, food, atmosphere and quirky charm.
