The charity homes the animals, some of which arrived as they could no longer be cared for by their previous owner, at a centre in East Ardsley.
Regardless of how they end up there, the animals are cared for until a new home can be found. The RSPCA also offers advice to people who already own pets but may be struggling to cope with the cost of food or healthcare.
This week, our round-up includes Lady, a sweet and affectionate six-year-old who loves fuss, comfy beds and window-watching.
Here are all of the cats and dogs currently being cared for at the centre that have not yet been matched up with the right owners –

7. Shadow
Shadow is a four-year-old male Domestic Shorthair with a velvety black coat and a gentle, loving nature. He’s seeking a quiet home without other pets, as he prefers to be the centre of attention. Shadow enjoys head-to-tail strokes and chin scratches. He’d do well with cat-savvy children aged 14 and older, and would love a garden to explore once settled. | RSPCA

8. Lola
Lola is a three-year-old Belgium Malinois who was found in a property on her own. The team believes that for at least four days, if not more, she was starving. She was so hungry she even ate a toy hoping to fill her stomach. She would suit a family who have just as much energy as her. | RSPCA

9. Billy
Five-year-old Billy loves nothing more than to be fussed over. He would love a new home where he can spend his days lounging around. He has had three homes up until now. Billy would prefer to be the only cat in the home. | RSPCA

10. Haggler
Haggler is a four-year-old Patterdale Terrier with a lively, energetic personality. He came to the RSPCA after a difficult past but has recovered well and is seeking an experienced, active home. Haggler thrives on exercise and would excel in activities like scent work. He needs an adult-only home without other pets but could enjoy dog-walking friends in time. | RSPCA

11. Freddie
Two-year-old Freddie is a sweet-natured and gentle Staffie who has been enjoying time in his foster home and can't wait to find his new family. They would need to commit to his training - and he would prefer a quieter home, but could live with older kids. | RSPCA
