Regarding the impending Covid passport trial and the possible mass introduction of passports, the observation of many will ask why were they not mentioned long ago?

It appears they were not correctly thought through long before the vaccination process commenced but should have been.

It also appears to be another case of “shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted”.

It is a too late approach to what some will consider worthless, more especially after over 30 million people have already been vaccinated with five million plus having received their second jab.

To introduce passports at this juncture will be a costly and logistical nightmare.

Also, the Government again fails to make it clear as to how the system is to work or what the passport is to be used for.

Basically, more confusion and leaving people in unknown territory especially those operating within the hospitality and travel industries to name just two.

It is typical of the way our government has handled the whole Covid pandemic with the exception of the vaccination rollout for which they should be praised, and rightly so. That said, unfortunately one success does not rectify the many failings.
