Why we must support charities like Candlelighters so they can support families - the YEP says

The charity sector is still reeling as a result of a stark gap in funding due to the cancellation of mass participation events.

Put simply, the pandemic’s impact on the sector has been nothing short of catastrophic.

But charities such as Candlelighters still carry out their vital work day in, day out to ensure they are a lifeline to those who still need their services.

Demand certainly hasn’t waned and their support has been invaluable - both emotionally and practically - for families like Hannah Richardson’s.

Candlelighters, which has lost 40 per cent of its income during the Covid-19 pandemic, has launched a new fundraising appeal this month – Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Our charitable sector desperately needs a lifeline to make sure that they continue their vital work supporting those that need them in their darkest hours.
