Blueprints for the scheme include creating a pedestrianised area on New Station Street, dedicated cycle lanes and facilities, and the redevelopment of the main concourse.

The plans follow claims earlier this year that the station will have more passengers than London Kings Cross in just three years.

While the world around us seems to have changed beyond recognition - in particular with our transport habits - it’s important that we continue to move forward.

We can’t afford to stall on projects that will help to ease our city’s transport woes.

For too long we have lamented as a city over how we Unlock the Gridlock and ease our transport headache.

When a ‘new normal’ settles in to our daily routines, we don’t want to look back and worry that we have put our foot on the brakes of a way to keep our city moving forward.
