Why we cannot let 'small minority' spoil city's community strength - the YEP says

Over the recent months we have seen our great city of Leeds come together in an overwhelming show of solidarity.

We’ve all stood on our doorsteps to celebrate the inspiring efforts of our key workers and during the difficult months we have looked out for our vulnerable neighbours.

Leeds’ spirit of generosity saw thousands of you sign up to join our city-wide network of volunteers to help those out who needed it the most.

And so during this challenging time it is disappointing that residents in Halton Moor, who are proud of their community, endure violent behaviour.

Last night the deputy leader of Leeds City Council and the ward member representing Halton Moor, Coun Debra Coupar, said she wanted to reassure the public that “the most robust response is taking place behind the scenes”.

We can’t let a “small minority” spoil that sense of community strength.
