Over the years Leeds’s Congenital Heart Unit has saved the lives of so many young patients.

And the family of little Bella Rodgers know all too well about the unit’s extraordinary work.

Bella had her first open heart surgery at just five days old and now as she marks her fifth birthday her family’s gratitude goes above and beyond to those who battled to save her life.

The youngster’s story features in the latest campaign video for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund to raise money to ensure other children, like Bella, have the very best chance of survival.

Around 22,000 patients of all ages with congenital heart disease pass through the Leeds Heart Unit every year.
