Many families are feeling the pinch due to the strain of the pandemic.

For many of us, Christmas is the ray of hope at the end of what has been a torrid year.

But for those in need the prospect of not having a gift to open on December 25 is very real.

Today the YEP is proud to team up with Pulse 1 to once again back the Mission Christmas appeal, which invites people to buy one extra gift for a disadvantaged child.

Collectively, Cash for Kids raised more than £20.9m in 2019 in gifts and donations which were distributed to more than one million disadvantaged children across the UK, including 26,143 in West Yorkshire.

This year will be different.

There will be significantly reduced drop-off points and reduced volunteers to accommodate social distancing for the appeal.

And we’re calling on you to give that special gift which will help to put a smile on a child’s face this Christmas - it’s needed more than ever.
