And that is the real sense of pride in the community to reclaim its streets from anti-social behaviour.

Long gone are the many mills that once thrived in its streets, making it an industrial hub, and with that came a tidal wave of feeling left behind.

It has taken years for the green shoots of recovery to sprout but there still remains a growing sense of social inequality - particularly in light of the pandemic which has exacerbated issues around the ability to make ends meet.

Yet rooted in the heart of Armley is a myriad of inspirational groups and campaigners who are determined to make their community proud.

From Armley Action Team right through to the Friends of Armley Park, they all have one common mission and that is to showcase their determination to generate positivity.

And investment is at the centre of this to help make communities like Armley proud of their past, present and future.
