Storm Darcy brought heavy rainfall over the weekend that resulted in flooding in some parts of Leeds.

Areas including Wortley and Pudsey were the worst-hit in the city.

In some cases, residents had to resort to creating make-shift flood barriers using sandbags as they feared their homes would be overwhelmed by floodwater or submerged.

And all of this comes as the city marks one year this week since Storm Ciara threatened to plunge Leeds underwater.

Civic leaders must revisit what action could be taken to ensure there are adequate flood defences in place.

And we should also take a moment to recognise the incredible community spirit that was seen this weekend, in the face of chaos.
