Large numbers of us enjoy flying and passenger numbers at Leeds Bradford Airport are increasing - YEP letters

Stuart states that the idea that flying is something we all do is wrong - but it’s something a large number of people enjoy doing whether its holidays or working. Getting from A to B is far more convenient than going by land or sea.

Where do these figures come from regarding passengers earning £28,750 gross income? I’ve never revealed my income to any questionnaires and I am sure many other people haven’t.

He mentions noise of the aircraft - what he fails to mention is modern aircraft engines are now becoming more quiet.

Mr Strathdee mentions about over crowding in houses with little access to outdoor open spaces. We have near the airport Kirkstall Abbey, Horsforth Hall Park, Roundhay Park and Golden Acre Park. Leeds is blessed with open parks for everyone.

He talks about affluent families who own cars using the airport. Don’t residents from Harehills, Middleton, Seacroft or Bramley fly away on holiday? Of course they do and one or two may have a car.

Sorry Stuart but passenger numbers at Leeds Bradford Airport are increasing year on year - 4,078,068 in 2017.

The non-affluent are becoming more affluent.
