IN LEEDS WE TRUST: "Imagine being told in 2019 that our very own Kalvin would be a part of England's Euros squad"

Regardless of your feelings about international football, it has to be said there is something special about the mood when there’s a major tournament on.

There’s a palpable atmosphere in the air, a few extra flags flying around and constant football on the TV. That feeling is back as Euro 2020 is now in full swing.

As Kalvin Phillips sets off - now with his good friend Ben White in tow - ahead of England’s first game against Croatia on Sunday, he takes with him the same cautious optimism that follows England to every major tournament.

Imagine being told in 2019, at the beginning of our promotion season, that our relatively unknown loanee centre back and our very own Kalvin would be a part of England’s Euros squad in two season's time. Once you’d gotten over the fact that the tournament was delayed a year for a global pandemic, you probably still wouldn’t believe it.

Both Kalvin and Ben deserve congratulations for the incredible work they’ve put in over such a short space of time.

Another of our Euro representatives, Wales’ Tyler Roberts, received his congratulations in the form of a new three-year contract with Leeds.

Tyler showed himself to be an important part of our squad in our first Premier League season, putting in some excellent performances, and at a young age he can only improve.

We at the Trust are also happy to be unveiling our new mural in Pudsey Market dedicated to the Leeds United legends that have passed away during the pandemic.

Jack Charlton, Norman Hunter, Trevor Cherry and Peter Lorimer will have a lasting legacy at this club both for their performances on the pitch and the men that they were off it.

Celebrating their legacies in the form of this mural is something we couldn’t be more proud to be a part of.

Thanks have to go to the artist, Nicolas Dixon, for his incredible work in designing and creating the mural.
